Neptune is moving into Pisces and that means we all will get a boost of intuition and psychic abilities. Unless we get ungrounded, that is! The flip side of all of the intuition, compassion and oneness we will experience is BEING LOST IN ILLUSION. That is why so many people are afraid of the psychic realm; it brings up fears of going crazy and becoming lost in illusion.
The antidote to this is to keep on grounding. Grounding is all about being connected to the physical body and the earth. It is the opposite of being lost in thoughts, fantasies and illusions. Grounding is a prerequisite to sanity. It is a cure for neurotic over-thinking and it is an absolute necessity for people seeking to peek through the veil into the subtle realms that underlie this physical reality.
So, here’s a simple grounding exercise. It should be done whenever you get stuck in thoughts–especially negative ones that generate suffering. You can never be too grounded, so here goes:
1. Sit down and notice the weight of your butt in the chair. Just notice that you have a body and it has weight that you can notice. Inhale. Slowly exhale and just notice your physical sensations.
2. Inhale again and as you exhale let your energy drop down to your feet. Just imagine all of your energy and awareness dropping down all the way to your feet as you inhale and exhale again.
3. Notice all of the energy in your head. You may call it thoughts. Inhale again and imagine all of that energy dropping all the way down to your feet as you exhale.
4. Notice that all of your body can ‘think’ or process information. Notice that your head/mind/brain still functions when there are fewer thoughts crowded there. Feel your skin, muscles, breath, bones and awareness as one thing.
5. Relax for another 30 seconds or more.
6. Done
This technique is especially powerful as a preparation for important phone calls!
