Grounding is Fundamental
Doing a grounding exercise multiple times a day keeps you out of your head and empowered. Most issues persist because of our not being grounded.
In this grounding exercise I’m speaking directly to your core self, bypassing the censorship of the rational mind. Allow it to sink in. Read slowly and feel your bodily sensations as you do. Let it in and feel along with what you read rather than keeping it confined to the realm of rational thought.
Start by feeling yourself sitting. Feel your feet on the ground and your butt in the chair. Don’t think about these feelings, just feel the sensations. Now feel the center of your chest, around the area of your heart, and notice that you are alive there. Just feel that for a second.
Feel that there is some kind of emotion in that spot right now. No need to label it. Just feel the emotion in the center of your chest and allow the feeling to relax whether good or bad.
Notice that there is an awareness that you exist. Whatever it is, there is that awareness. Feel it. Feel it in the chest rather than thinking it in the brain. Notice that YOU are a feeling. There is a certain feeling that is you. That feeling exists nowhere else in the universe than right there in the center of that chest. Stop and feel that divine uniqueness right now.
Keep feeling it. Don’t label it.
Take some time with this one.
This is a peek at the core essence of you. Feel into it on a physical level.
Great. Now that we have the basics, let’s notice the rest of the body.
Notice how your skin feels the outside world. What’s it telling you right now? What is it telling you around your right ankle? What about your belly or between your temples? Feel your skin from within, right now.
Notice the feeling tone of that unique being that is you feeling into the skin from within. It’s magic! By what mechanism does this feeling, YOU thing reach out and contact the skin?
At the same time feel that you are breathing and notice where the air goes through your body. This is happening while you are feeling emotion and sensing through the skin. Feel it all. And notice that your breath causes your whole body to move with it. Now synchronize that with noticing your heart beating in some kind of rhythm with your breath. Feel it all, again and again.
Notice that there is physical aliveness and the awareness of aliveness.
Notice that you are both.
Notice what happens when you feel this aliveness more deeply.
